Occasionally I wandered in where I was not wanted and gave truthful answers.
Sometimes I even did it deliberately. A little disruption now can prevent disaster later.

NeoNote — Change the groups

Labels get in the way. I'm pagan, and there are pagans and Christians who are convinced that makes me progressive. There are some evangelical Christians who assumed that I was silly and naive because I was pagan. Then I tied them into semantic knots.

The pedestal problem

"The time has come," the Walrus said,
"To talk of many things:
Of shoes--and ships--and sealing-wax--
Of cabbages--and kings--
And why the sea is boiling hot--
And whether pigs have wings."

It's only shame if I accept the premise.

It's only shame if I accept the premise.

As I see it, the vice or virtue isn't in the label. It's in how you touch the lives of others. The honor is in giving truth when needed, helping when you can, and leaving the World a little better than how you found it.

Fundamentalism denies others choice

I won't submit to your game. You will frustrate yourself more and more if you keep trying. The reason I can do this here, now, is because America is based on choice and pluralism and responsibility. Bad choices and bad consequences teach people to make better choices.

Fundamentalism denies others choice.

It doesn't matter if it's atheism, Islamist, climate change, Christianity, progressive, conservative, pagan, or libertarian. The label just distracts from the tactic.

Fundamentalism denies others choice.

I call myself pagan

I call myself pagan because I don't have a better term. I'm polytheistic and pantheistic. On alternate Thursdays and every third Tuesday I might admit to an animism bent as well. On the 13th of the month, I'll tell you (truthfully) that the label isn't really all that important, only the manifestation.

Really real pagan

According to some members of the Big Three monotheisms, it's a smear word. Pagans worship multiple gods and haven't evolved enough to worship the One True God®. Of course, they're busy arguing over which One True God® and if this One is an aspect of that One and if this other can be Three-In-One. Maybe a monotheist answer isn't the best one.
