Occasionally I wandered in where I was not wanted and gave truthful answers.
Sometimes I even did it deliberately. A little disruption now can prevent disaster later.

Rhythm Of Life

So as I often do these days, I was over at Mom's visiting and making sure she was okay. She's doing much better since the accident, but she still needs a caregiver.

With the local cable company playing their games, the internet signal wasn't good enough for Netflix. So I broke out the Carol Burnett DVDs.

There was one sketch. A wealthy couple was meeting the parents of their daughter's fiancee. To the surprise of both sets of parents, it wasn't to be a church wedding. It was going to be a street wedding with a hippie vibe. Okay, so far funny, but nothing exceptional. Then they did the musical number.

And The Rhythm Of Life is a powerful beat,
Puts a tingle in your fingers and a tingle in your feet,
Rhythm in your bedroom,
Rhythm in the street,

Yes, The Rhythm Of Life is a powerful beat,
To feel The Rhythm Of Life,
To feel the powerful beat,
To feel the tingle in your fingers,
To feel the tingle in your feet,

To feel The Rhythm Of Life,
To feel the powerful beat,
To feel the tingle in your fingers,
To feel the tingle in your feet,

Here was a great song and I never heard it before. A little bit of websearch told me it was based on The Ryhthm of Life from Sweet Charity. I'd heard of the musical, but I never watched it. I should have, Bob Fosse, Shirley MacLaine. It didn't take me long to find a YouTube clip of the movie with the very talented Sammy Davis, Jr. performing the song.

Okay, obviously the full song is a commentary of fad religions and con men taking money and power away from foolish people.

But that one section of lyrics, the same bit that the
Carol Burnett Show had excerpted, that was Some Powerful Stuff there.

So of course I'm going to add it to my notes. I'm going to adapt it. And I'm going to share the idea with you.

Have fun with it.
