Reopening my path to the world wide web
Feeding my addiction.
All through Tuesday night, my cable internet kept fritzing in and out.
Early Wednesday, it was down for several hours for my entire area.
When it came back up that afternoon, it fried my cable modem.
Thursday morning I argued with the cable company over who was going to pay for the modem. They were supposed to bring me one by and hook it up.
Thursday afternoon, no modem. So I go by and pound on their door. That is when they told me they didn't support Macintosh and AirPort (Apple's name for WiFi). "Since when?" I asked, I had been using it for more than a year.
Thursday at 16:38, I got home with a cable modem and a tech who didn't believe it could be hooked up to Macintosh.
Thursday at 16:46, I had my Airport network and iBook and latest iMac up and running on the internet. The Powerbook and and Bondi Blue iMac will have to wait a bit.
And now I am writing this.
