Updating
When I was looking for sites with good RSS feeds that I could use, I took another look at the pagan web. I used to do that every few months or so, I'm not sure why I stopped. There's a lot of stuff in walled off parts of the web like Facebook.
It takes a fair amount of dedication and effort to maintain your own site. The server problems I had on Monday show that. I tried to update, got cut off, and the permissions on most of the blog files got changed. It took a while to sort out. You don't have to do that if you're on someone elses platform.
I consider that part of the creation process, just like the layout and the words I type. But I'm living in a world of podcasts. Hardly anyone reads anymore.
I don't want the attention. I want this blog to be about the joy and fun I have being a pagan and looking at the world in a different way. I can't show that without showing the World that makes me that way. And I can't do that in a podcast. I'm not sure I can do that in a twelve hour epic motion picture. It's not that my Story is so Amazingly Wonderful, it's that it depends on some very simple shifts in viewpoint which most people wouldn't accept even if it hit them over the head with special effects thirty feet high on a screen with a terrific soundtrack to emphasise each and every point.
And that is not fun. That's work to sell an agenda. I sure as blazes don't yearn for that.
This is me I'm sharing. Not some epic fantasy. Just me. And some things I really like. That includes pictures and quotes even if they aren't mine.
So no more "practical paganism." It's back to "a narrow slice of life." I won't change the world with this blog. I won't try to justify myself or what I am doing. I will share parts of my life. I'm shifting the emphasis away from a strictly pagan site back to the World experienced by a pagan. I'm still doing the big entry on Tuesday, but the rest will be bits and pieces that I find interesting.
I finally learned how to put in custom fonts. It's not my first choice of font for the titles, but it's the one that looks good.
I'm working on the lexicon. What else is new, right? But I enjoy it.
I hope you enjoy the rest of the site.
