Touchstones along the path

One of the Blessed found this blog and writes about it
I am a little behind in my web reading. Even with insomnia, every week or so I have to have a day or two where I cram in as much sleep as possible. Monday was one of those days, I barely made it to work, and I didn't even make it to the bedroom when I got home from work, just curled up in front of the fire.
So this morning I wake up bright and early to read, and there it is. A nice comment from Sunfell on my bunny hunting entry.
Okay, make that dark and early. Well before dawn.
I don't know Sunfell that well. I've read her stuff for a while now. I've quoted her a time or two, and of course that is her TechMage Rede at the top of my sidebar. I don't agree with everything she says, but often what she does say resonates. I have this mythical construct in my head of a bonfire with people I would like to hang out with, and maybe discuss matters large and small. Sunfell fits the bill, and I am sure she would give better than she got.
I should explain. I use Sunfell's writings as one of my touchstones to check my own thinking and feeling. Most people tell you what they think you want to hear or what they think you don't want to hear. From what I can tell, Sunfell tells what she thinks is truth. It may not be YOUR truth, but it is truth. That is extraordinarily rare and it should be cherished.
Properly used, it's another perspective. Improperly used, it can screw you up royally, but that is not the fault of the person giving truth. It's your fault for failing to recognize how that truth may or may not apply.
Anyway, Sunfell also wrote a nice entry on her LiveJournal about my Blessed Journeys piece, and she has some interesting things to say. She gets it right off, which says something right there. Some of the comments on her piece are even more fascinating.
And bless her heart, she's the one who came up with the term sojourner. It's obvious when you think about it, but I didn't and I am kicking myself for that. I am happy to give her credit though.
It also means a new category here at Technopagan Yearnings. Rather than confuse things with the term Blessed and my existing category of Bless List, I am going to use Sojourners as the blog category. These will be the stories of people who take the Journey instead of the Story, at least, when I have permission to tell them. Blessed (capitalized and with two syllables) and sojourner are synonyms, and I am more likely to use Blessed in the entries.
