Soft rain
I know that doesn’t seem like much, but my high desert doesn’t get a lot of rain. We really notice when it happens.
This was the soft gentle kind, not the gullywashers.
When I lived in Phoenix, they didn’t have all the canals quite worked out. That meant that a hard rain could flood parts of some roads. It wouldn’t last very long, it was desert after all. The water would just drain off into the sand. But it did make crossing some canals interesting.
But that is not here.
Sometimes in the spring we do have flash floods that fill the smaller canyons.
Last night was the soft rain. Just the right kind of thing to watch from the porch with a hot beverage.
There are worse ways to spend an evening. Not too many better ones though.
