So let's talk about the Journey.
I called a revealed faith the Story and an experienced faith the Journey. One is not necessarily better, but each has a different emphasis.
The Story is told while the Journey is lived. The only two purposes of the story are to honor the memory of those who have gone before and to teach you to recognize where the path begins for your own journey. The rituals are not the faith. The map is not the territory. The words are not the thing. Story People are the followers of a revealed faith, “the answers could be in the very next book” They seek to live the fable.
The Journey is movement along the way that can't be predicted. It's juicy, it's messy, it's mind blowing and it’s supremely passionate. It's ecstatic in a way that passivity never will approach. The Journey is SUPPOSED to drag you out of your comfort zone and your expectations and your perceptions and understandings. You can't walk between the worlds if you have both feet and nine fingers firmly anchored in one. You can only be responsible for your journey alone because it is your journey and no one else’s.
Sojourners take the Journey.
A Journey is about discovery. It's something you've never experienced and have never thought about. A discovery changes you in ways you could never imagine before. But discovery is only part of the Journey.
At some point you come back from the mountain and across the wilderness. You return not to the life you had. Because now you have to take what you learned while discovering and Manifest. You have to bring what you discovered into your life and then cast it out into the world.
Not once. Not twice. Not even thrice.
A good rule of thumb is that you have to Manifest at least seven times. I'd say that a sucessfull Manifestation has to happen at least thirteen times, and maybe closer to forty-nine times.
Not every discovery is worth it. Count on Journeying again and again. Count on looking for the unexpected whenever you can. Count on seeking the wonder even if takes time.
Blow your mind and change the World.
