I identify with bears. Not in the sexual sense, but it the spiritual sense.
A bear spirit was my first “totem.” She was there when life was pretty bleak. She convinced me to go on living at least for a while. She gave me wisdom when I was clinging to despair. And she may have stopped me from walking off a cliff into the river a few hundred feet below.
So yes, I really like bears. I have paintings of bears. I have bear statuary all over. And sometimes when I am falling asleep, I swear I can smell and hear a bear rummaging around.
I approve of the bear’s outlook. Most of the time, they’ll leave you alone if you leave them alone. And if you don’t have any tasty treats they can smell.
Bears are incredibly curious and very intelligent.
