Here are some physical parts of a spell I improvised last night and used this morning. It's one of the better "booster" spells I've come up with in a while. It takes a bit of prep time and you need to greet the sun, but it works.
Last night a friend asked for my help. The circumstances demanded that I needed a little extra kick. So I poked around and came up with what I call a Focusing Flame.
Most of the ingredients are going to vary according to the spell, but I thought I would explain the mechanics. It is fairly simple to do. I'm leaving out the spell specifics, and the Names and chants and the rest.
Mix and grind most of the dry ingredients in a mortar. I used a mineral salt base.
Carefully add the liquid components. In this particular case, that was mainly a few drops of water from a passing thunderstorm. Very convenient that, but sometimes it is best not to question synchronicity too closely. It should be just enough to make a fairly dry paste.
Let dry a few hours.
Lightly pencil a sigil on a few wood chips. I used cherry smoking chips, because I had some on hand and some of the associations with cherry wood were necessary to what I was doing.
Just before dawn, melt some wax on the chips. Hint - avoid using the wax from scented candles in spell work, it can create some unexpected effects. Sealing wax works pretty well.
Apply the now dry paste, let the wax dry.
As the sun peeks out over the horizon, burn the wax/paste covered chips and summon the Focusing Flame.
