By the old style calendars and almanac, tonight marks the first night of the new or dark moon. As I call it, the Lady is in the Court of Shadows.
Tomorrow is the vernal equinox, which means this dawn this morning is first day of Greenmark, a solar festival on my WebTree path and the middle of spring. Many neopagan traditions celebrate Ostara on the equinox.
Of course the 21st is the anniversary of the original Earth Day and the only Earth Day I recognize. Although I usually toss it in with Greenmark. The original date makes much more sense since it’s a part of the Earth’s natural cycle, that business of Lenin’s birthday never did make sense to me.
And then there is the total solar eclipse on Friday.
All in all a pretty potent week.
