He lives in Irian Jaya, a remote island in the archipelago that makes up what we call Indonesia. The modern" world is slowly forcing him to change his native ways. Wild men run together unashamed, unburdened by what society dictates. Stress free living with nature. He runs naked through the bush, plays in the sun and dances in the rain. He's never seen a mall, doesn't own a car and has no electricity with which to watch television. Some people find value in his way of being, and others tell him he must adapt to becoming a contributing member of our world economy. But Wild Man knows what he has, and he knows it will endure. He knows that nature and earth abide. I keep this carving to remind me of our past. As a reminder that I too can run free. Hand carved in Indonesia.
