Obviously I’ve been keeping the fireplace going for my Starwell celebration. I’m going to try to keep it going through the first or second week of January.
My fireplace isn’t especially efficient, and it makes the back rooms colder. But a visible fire serves a spiritual and mental need that most people don’t recognize. Watching the flames flicker, feeling the heat, smelling the wood burning, these things are part of human experience.
Fire good, grunts NeoWayland.
I joke about it, but that is the heart of it. Or maybe the hearth. It’s the center.
I could watch the flames for hours.
I think I will. With some hot chocolate. Wrapped in blankets.
Then I have things to do. Including some family stuff.
But for right now…
