A thought provoking post from a Pagan I respectSunfell on the Pagan
community
Sunfell after going to a Pagan
Festival.
All in all, I've managed to cross the horizon, and find myself in a place I never thought I'd find myself: post-Pagan. Not ex-, post-. I've grown into it, and through it, and it no longer holds any attraction for me. Sure, it will be fun to go to The Flying Saucer and have beers with the Asatru- they're fine folks, fun to hang out with and talk to... but I don't think that I'll join their religion. She's thought provoking as always. I'm discouraged by much of what I see in the Pagan community, maybe starting starting with how some of the fluffies demand that we are a community because we are "Pagan." These aren't necessarily people I like though. Sometimes it seems that some who call themselves Pagan are really only doing it to draw attention to themselves. They want all the flash without all the commitment. It doesn't help that some of the groups and solitaries that I respect are pulling back "into the shadows." But I really can't blame them, especially when public paganism has turned into some sort of carnival sideshow. Sometimes we make the choice, and sometimes it is made for us. I don't like being backed into a corner.

Pagan philosopher, libertarian, and part-time trouble maker, NeoWayland looks at keeping truths alive despite a wash of nonsense. But don't be surprised when he's doing the "nekkid Pagan guy" thing.
