On favoring intuition over intellect - left foot versus right foot

The best way to get my attention is to start with the philosophy

Selections from my email.

On one of my liberty lists, I've been trying to explain that intuition and intellect aren't mutually exclusive. Here's my side of the conversation. And since it's me, I get the official Technopagan Green! Aren't you excited?

I won't exclude intellect. I didn't say anything about relying on intellect alone.

Intellect is just as much a gift as intuition. Makes a good balance too.

Just because you think in either/or, don't assume everyone else does.

*shrugs*

That just tells me again that you choose to ignore your potential.

It also tells me you're letting yourself be trapped by either/or.

I say if the choice is between black or white, choose fuzzy.

No, that isn't what I'm saying.

I'm saying that while you are balancing on your left foot, you decide you're not going to use your right foot unless you absolutely can't avoid it, and then only for as long as you absolutely have to. Then it's back to balancing on your left foot and admiring your own left-footed perspective. Your left foot gets strong and calloused, your right foot gets weak and tender. Then when you do need both, you wonder why the right foot isn't as dependable as the left so you conclude that the right side is inherently inferior to the left. That means in turn that you depend even more on the left foot and are even more inclined to dismiss the right foot.

There's nothing wrong with your right foot except you don't use it enough. Both sides (and many more) are a part of you, by favoring one over the other you put yourself perpetually off balance and make yourself less than you could be.

Your center is not in your foot.

I really enjoy this sort of talk.
