"I thought you wore bear pendants."Well, I do. Sometimes.
Just finished spending some time with Stepbro, he
stopped over on his way to Phoenix from Colorado. He leaves to go back to Iraq
Friday. He's a contractor, not active service military.
Anyway, that's what he said when he saw me. Usually between the full and dark moons, I do wear one of my bear pendants. But this was still one of the three days of the equinox, so it's the tree of life. And before you ask, yes, changing pendants is a lot to keep up with sometimes. But the discipline is one of the things I use to force myself to think about the magick and the gods. Touching it during the day is one of the things that reminds me of who I am and helps me to reach out to the ephemeral place where I live rather than losing myself in the routine. So yes, the pendents are ritualized. A malachite bear fetish for the waxing moon, a medicine bear shield for the waning one. In the dark moon I usually wear my grandfather's key or a dark pewter piece. In the full moon it's usually a bright silver disk. All my pendents are on long lines so they hang loose above my heart chakra for when I work the magick, but in daily use I do a loop slipknot so the pendent rests just over my throat chakra choker style. Pendants. They're not just for decoration anymore.

Pagan philosopher, libertarian, and part-time trouble maker, NeoWayland looks at keeping truths alive despite a wash of nonsense. But don't be surprised when he's doing the "nekkid Pagan guy" thing.
