Moon kissedDid I tell you that the full moon is one
of my favorite times?
My cable company did something around 5 p.m. on
Thursday and knocked out the internet and made the television signal all snowy
(I haven't upgraded to HDTV yet). Since it was the first night of the full
moon, I just climbed up on the roof and watched the moon and the stars for a
while.
After folks settled down and went inside, I took my first moon bath of the season. Not on the roof, in the back yard, away from casual eyes. And away from any temptation for the neighbors to call the cops. I love the kiss of the moon, I could lose myself in it. I have lost myself in it. There is something very primal in the bright moonlight. Neo hums. This full moon my pendent is a bright disc with a triskelie design. Bright moon. One more night, and then it's the bear medicine shield of the waning moon. I charged some salt last night. You have to be careful with the timing and seal it away before the sky begins to brighten with the dawn. I think I have told you that I wear a silver bear medicine shield during the waning moon and a malachite and silver pendent based on a bear fetish during the waxing moon. Bear, you see, is very important to me. I honor her when I can. I don't think she is a goddess but I know she is associated with the moon somehow. Bear was my first ally. Bear's song kept me This Side. Other people think of the wolf in the moonlight. For me, it will always be the bear. Coyote in sunlight, but that is a different story. That is one of my favorite things about being Pagan, all that silvery blue moonlight with rainbow edges. And washing over bear.
