Practically speakingA quiet meditation today
You may have noticed that I've been concentrating
on the "mundane" aspects of magick in my last few posts. There are reasons for
this.
I've told you that magick is the essence of change and evolution. I've told you that magick is shaped by thought and driven by passion. Let me tell you another secret. Neo leans very close and whispers. Magick bridges worlds. Only that isn't that much of a secret, is it? If your spellcraft is going to mean something to anyone besides you, you have to bring it home. Come down off of the mountain, walk out of the desert, move down from the shore. Cross the boundry and then come back. Is there wondrous amazement beyond my senses? Absolutely. Most of the universe is beyond. Way, way beyond. No human living can sense more than a small portion. And forget about total understanding, it's way beyond your thinking, way beyond your dreams, way beyond you. But all that is useless unless you manifest it in the world you share with other humans. Otherwise you might as well give up. It's that reaching that makes you better, stronger, and more yourself. Even if you can't reach, you've made yourself more than you were before. Gods make you stretch. The measure of a human is in the lives he touches. Magick is the essence of change and evolution. Magick is shaped by thought and driven by passion. The Story is not the Journey. All different ways of saying the same thing. Magick bridges worlds. Not because it's fantastic. Not because it's miraculous. Not because it is "powers far beyond the ken of mortal men." Magick bridges worlds. And by manifesting it, you can bring wonder into this one. A little spark of the Divine. And the only way to make it shine brighter is to pass it on. That's why we're here This Side. Simply and practically put.

Pagan philosopher, libertarian, and part-time trouble maker, NeoWayland looks at keeping truths alive despite a wash of nonsense. But don't be surprised when he's doing the "nekkid Pagan guy" thing.
