Occasionally I wandered in where I was not wanted and gave truthful answers.
Sometimes I even did it deliberately. A little disruption now can prevent disaster later.

Flufflies and Crusaders

Ah yes, the fluffies. Irritating as they can be though, lately I've had more difficulty with the Crusaders. Not long after I accepted my paganism, I ran into a group that was very offended by my past. I thought they were the exception. Now I am not so sure. I've seen a lot of virtue signaling and a lot of politics. What I haven't seen are very many talks about the sunrise, or that bit when you're looking into a dark bowl of water and drift, or the sheer joy of dancing around a bonfire. No, it's a lot about which books and authors are Approved this week, and whether or not this guy flirted or sexually harassed someone. The Crusaders need a cause and a highly visible enemy. It's becoming less about the experience and more about the revealed knowledge. I don't think that is a good thing.

Uh oh,I just revealed Secrets That Must Not Be Revealed. The Powers-That-Wanna-Be may insist I turn in my lucky charm.

There's a essay there that I have been nibbling the edge of for the last couple of weeks, but I can't get it to come out right. Yet.

An e*friend used to say that there were reasons why some were withdrawing back into the shadows. I used to say that I thought it was a mistake, but I am not sure anymore.

Yep. Gods make you stretch. Even if it isn't in ways you would have chosen.

Not to blow my own horn (much), but I have another blog, a pagan slice of life as it were. It's not all first rank stuff, but www.neowayland.com/files/tag-classic.html has some decent work.

I'm not tied very much into the community either, I'm a paranoid solitary. What I am seeing is that we're beginning to eat our own and it's not a pretty sight. I take some flack for my positions, but that's mainly online. Offline I try to steer it more towards the experience.

Truthfully I've been looking for pagans I trust. Not necessarily an organized group, just individuals with good judgement who will tell me the truth. Something without politics. It's not by accident that I divided my blogs into the pagan and the political, or that the political tag on my pagan blog is "ugh-politics." Politics corrupts, and it distracts me. I'm way too good at it. But it feeds my darker passions. I'm not that person anymore.

I like the way you think. Thanks for taking the time to respond to me.

I let my ego off the chain last weekend. It was a vain and foolish thing to do. And it had consequences.

Experience & Art

Paganism should spread through experience and art, not theology. The theology comes later, if it comes.
