Occasionally I wandered in where I was not wanted and gave truthful answers.
Sometimes I even did it deliberately. A little disruption now can prevent disaster later.

Drop down menus and transferring old content

Things have changed around here. I discovered some of the things that RapidWeaver could do. Which means you should find it easier to navigate the site. Check out the drop down menus up at the top.

I won’t kid you. It’s going to get more difficult as I reformat the old pages to the new site. That’s one reason why I really like tags.

For six of the old style pages, it takes about two hours to reformat, fix the typos, put in the tags, create the redirect pages, upload entire site, upload the redirect pages, and test everything. I
have to reload the entire site each time, sometimes there are new tags. Six at a time is about the most I can keep track of with the redirects in the old page locations. If my math is right, I still have something like a thousand pages to go, which means something like more than three hundred hours before I get it all transferred. For this site alone.

In addition to that, I still have to write new content for all three blogs. I have to take care of the offline life things so I can do this. It’s a one man operation.

I want to redo the banner on this site and do something with that tag cloud thing so it works without the ornaments. That means I have to figure out some CSS.

On the other hand, the “Words & Phrases” thing is turning into a real resource. I should have thought of that years ago.
